So christmas happened and I decided this year to go with another Shaun of the Dead related present for a good friend of mine (it's a bit of a joke how much we know that film inside and out).
I remembered seeing this cushion ([link]) by and absolutely loving it at the time, so I decided to borrow the idea and make one for my friend.
Well inspired by the idea maybe, its not exactly the same. I went more for a shirt closer to the original film with a Shaun name badge (ebay!).
Anyways, it was pretty easy really. Never really made a cushion before so I'm quite happy with the outcome. I just tucked the sleeves inside themselves and sewed the seams, and then hacked off the bottom of the shirt and sewed that bad boy too. I added a flap of material inside the collar too so the cushion couldn't be seen. Other than that there's nothing else sewn shut. I left the shirt and tie un-sewn so the cushion cover could be washed if ever need be.
The red 'ink' is actually really watered down acrylic paint. I didn't want to use ink so I could control the bleed a little better and also keep the red (I was painting and simultaneously blasting with a hairdryer, multitask ftw!).
You've got red on you!
